Come and join us!Now that summer is gone and the milder autumn days are here, it’s time to get back to daytime activity. We’ll be doing a bit of an autumn clean in preparation for the winter days ahead. We’ll take out the remaining willowherb in our meadow and using it to make some dead hedges for all the invertebrate life that will soon be looking for places to hibernate. The tree nursery needs clearing from the bindweed and willowherb as well, so the trees will be ready to put on fresh growth come spring. We’ll also be sanitising our bird feeders and stocking them up as they will no doubt be in demand in the months ahead.
If time allows we’ll also divide up some of our bathtub pond plants to create a bit more open water in that habitat, and spread these to the other wet areas on the reserve. And of course, there will be plenty of time to relax and enjoy the reserve at your leisure.
The gated entrance with an EWG sign is on Ruislip Road East across from the Lidl Car Park, between 61 Clifton Road and 31 Costons Lane.
All under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
