Fight the January Blues by coming to plant trees for a few hours as part of Scottish Water's woodland creation project.
About this Event

We will be planting mixed broadleaf trees as part of Scottish Water’s woodland creation project. The purpose of this planting is to extend woodland cover and encourage biodiversity of the area. The ground will be pre-prepared with stakes for planting. We will be planting saplings and attaching tree tubes. If you haven’t planted trees before, don’t worry- we will demonstrate how to do it! It is likely we’ll work in small groups/pairs. Tools and gloves will be provided.

When

There will be two sessions:

Morning- 10-12:30

Afternoon 13:00-15:30

You can join one or both sessions- just select which session you'd like to join when ordering tickets on Eventbrite.

Where to meet

Meeting Place: The start of the Cocksburn Reservoir path, Dumyat car park, Sheriffmuir Road

· W3W: ///feasting.twin.diets NS8123997946

· Google link to the meeting place: https://maps.app.goo.gl/CBfpf5Ti5R11NTXX7

· There are a number of parking spaces along Sheriffmuir Road. Alternatively, Pendreich Forestry and Land Scotland woodland car park is a 10-minute walk along a woodland path. Please car share where possible.

· The car parks can get quite busy, so please leave plenty of time and park considerately.

· If you are driving, please note that the roads are single tracks road and can be icy in winter. We recommend coming onto Sheriffmuir Road from Bridge of Allan rather than via Logie Kirk as the road is wider from the Bridge of Allan side.

· If you are walking or cycling then you are welcome to meet us at the reservoir shoreline

· The area where we will be working is to the South East of the reservoir where the Cox Burn meets the reservoir (a 10-15 minute walk from parking)

What to bring

· Snacks and water / drinks.

· You should wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty and sturdy footwear

· Consider the weather forecast and dress appropriately.

Toilets

There will be a welfare facility on site for the duration of the event.

Families welcome. Children under 16 must be supervised by an adult.
