Mark your calendars.......THREE WEEKS until the May Eternal Angels Volunteer gathering! We will be meeting on Saturday, May 18 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Eau Claire (behind Perkins restaurant). Huge thank you to St. John's for allowing us to use their church again & thank you to Kathy F. for being our hostess!We will meet in the lower level of the church, that you can reach by taking the elevator or stairs found just inside the entrance door off the main parking lot of the church. We will meet from 9am - 4pm, so feel free to come for the entire day or whatever part your schedule allows. We will be working on a variety of tasks associated with creating all our angel outfits which could include de-constructing, laying out patterns & pinning, cutting, sewing, ironing, cutting labels, cutting ribbon, removing beading, or hand sewing appliques. Anyone is welcome to help, whether you know how to sew or not! (over half our volunteers do NOT know anything about sewing!)
If you do know how to sew, bring your sewing machine, power cords, sewing pins, & white thread if you have it, otherwise we have extra. Everything else will be provided including an instruction book & lots of moral support & encouragement! If you don't know how to sew, that's great too! Just bring eager hands & a compassionate heart & you will fit right in! If you've ever thought about joining us, but haven't yet, we'd love to meet you & share what we do with you!
Lunch is potluck & all the volunteers are strongly encouraged to join us for lunch! We always have a big variety of foods to choose from to accommodate everyone's preferences, so feel free to bring any dish to pass you'd like. (If your schedule doesn't allow you to bring a dish to pass, no worries, please join us anyway, we will have plenty of food to share!) And please bring your own beverages for yourself for the day.
VERY IMPORTANT: As usual, if you plan on joining us, please make sure to click on the "going" option on this Facebook event (or send me a private message) so I know how many volunteers to plan for. I need to make sure I bring enough work to keep everyone busy while they're there!
