About this Event
The Volunteer Passport is a Slough initiative, which offers a series of 4 FREE short training modules, exploring the key areas all volunteers need to successfully volunteer with charities and groups. These modules give you the basic skills, awareness, confidence, and knowledge required to volunteer.
On completion of all 4 modules, you will be awarded a Volunteer Passport certificate, which will enable you to start your volunteering journey and will enhance your career path.
The Second course dates Face to Face at 29 Church Street Resource Center.

If you can't make all the dates for the modules above, not a problem! We run four Volunteer Passport courses several times and at venues different times and venues a year so book for the modules you can attend now and catch up on any modules missed at a later date.

To sign up for the Volunteer Passport, click 'Select a Date' and register for your chosen modules by clicking on the 'Tickets' buttons. You will need to register for each module separately. You are welcome to sign up for both the Adult and Children's Safeguarding modules but you only need to complete one, alongside the other three modules, to complete the course and gain your certificate.

Safeguarding
Safeguarding is the process of working to protect individuals from harm such as abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
Equality and Diversity
Equality and diversity are all about treating people fairly and with respect, no matter what their differences may be. We will look at how to promote equal opportunities and recognise the value of diversity.
Boundaries and Confidentiality
Boundaries set the limits of what is and is not acceptable and help to protect ourselves and service users by clarifying what types of behaviour and language will or will not be tolerated. Confidentiality involves protecting and actively promoting the dignity and privacy of service users.
Communication Skills
The ability to communicate effectively is essential, no matter where you volunteer, it sounds like it should be instinctive but often when we say one thing it can be misinterpreted leading to misunderstandings and frustration.
This training is free to join but there is a cost for us to deliver.
NB. A charge of £10 will be incurred for non-attendance not notified to us within 48 hrs of the course start time; this will be invoiced to you or your organisation.
Slough CVS is a local charity funded to support groups in Slough, Windsor, Ascot , Maidenhead and surrounding areas so please only register for this training if you provide services or intend to volunteer in the areas we serve. If we have places available 24 hours before the start of the training and you would like to attend but are not in our area of benefit, please email [email protected] and we will try to accommodate you.
