New Year's Resolution to become more involved in the community? Look no further! Micah 6:8 Initiative is conducting its first volunteer orientation of the year on January 21 at 4:30 p.m. at WayStation, 1920 S. 8th St. in Rogers. What volunteer jobs are there at Micah 6:8 Initiative? We've got the gamut! We need the following help: maintenance, construction, mentors, kitchen help, processing donations and assisting our guests with clothing, social media and website management, advocates, life skills coaches and presenters, financial advisors to our guests (to help them to clear up credit), spiritual companions for conversation and prayer, laundry help at the thrift store, cleaning and creating retail displays at the thrift store, fundraising event planning, special program planning, grant writing and planned giving assistance, and all the way up to serving on our board of directors.
Micah 6:8 Initiative has a small but mighty staff, but in all of the areas above, we need more human resource to reach our potential to move the needle on homelessness in NWA. If you have a heart for the homeless, we can find a place for you to serve. We can use people who can only occasionally help, who want to do a one-time or annual project, those who want to be on a schedule, and those who are looking to dig into the life-changing work of building relationships and opening your heart and life to new friends. All levels of involvement are welcome and appreciated!
It all starts with a one-hour orientation to Micah 6:8 Initiative and how we serve people experiencing homelessness in NWA. DM to reserve your spot or email: [email protected]. Orientation is a live and in person, but if the weather is harsh, we will conduct an online event.
