Who should attend:

This course is aimed at volunteer managers and co-ordinators or anyone with responsibility for managing volunteers. This is a one day course delivered in person in a classroom setting at Community Resource Shrewsbury Business Park 4 The Creative Quarter Shrewsbury SY2 6LG.

Overview:

This is an ideal course for busy volunteer co-ordinators who wish to gain knowledge of best practice and how to apply it. The day will also provide opportunities to network and share information. This course will cover:

• Developing a volunteering programme

• Recruitment and selection

• Support and supervision

• Retention of volunteers

Outcomes:

At the end of this course participants will:

• Understand effective recruitment methods including targeted volunteer recruitment strategies to meet organisational needs

• Learn the very latest best practice in all aspects of volunteer management including the law

• Understand how to deal with difficult situations and how to best support and manage volunteers

• Be able to use tools to motivate and retain volunteers long term

This accredited free training is supported by Shropshire Council and Funded by Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government (MHCLG) and managed by the Voluntary & Community Support Team at Community Resource. This free training is to support community groups, voluntarily organisations and volunteers (within Shropshire only). Please note this training is only available to volunteers and organisations within Shropshire UK. Please do not book onto this course if you are not volunteering or working within Shropshire UK as your registration will be cancelled/removed. Additional training will be offered throughout the year. So please keep looking at our training opportunities which will be available through eventrbrite.

This training will be delivered in person by an accredited trainer in a classroom setting. Booking is essential and only confirmed ticket holders will be admitted on the day. Once you have successfully booked onto your chosen free course. You will be emailed a few days before the training date, to give you further training details and to confirm your booking number.

We do offer a waiting list facility. So, if you are unable to attend, please could you let us know as soon as possible via email so we can then offer your free place to someone else.
