Austin Humane Society, a dedicated haven for our furry friends, is on the lookout for compassionate volunteers like you to join our cause. We're hosting a free information day so we can share more about our shelter, our mission, and our volunteer program with animal lovers like you!
Why Volunteer With Us?
AHS is Austin's longest standing no-K*ll shelter, and we positively impact the lives of over 11,000 animals each year. We couldn't come close to accomplishing this without the help of our dedicated volunteers! By volunteering with Austin Humane Society, you become an essential part of our mission to provide a safe and nurturing environment for cats and dogs in need.
What Do AHS Volunteers Do?
Volunteers help in many ways, including:
Socializing, training, and snuggling with dogs
Socializing, brushing, and playing wtih cats
Assisting our veterinary team in the clinic department
Helping adopters find their new family member
Photographing our adoptable animals for our website and social media
Going to events and sharing our mission with others
Fostering dogs, cats, puppies, and/or kittens until they are ready for adoption

All volunteers must be 14 years of age or older. Volunteers age 14-15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
