Come join us at Ma'alot Farms in Los Gatos! We will get our hands dirty, have fun, enjoy farm snacks and help our community!

Volunteer Farm Chores

Life on a farm is constantly changing with the seasons, and our volunteer days reflect that. Come join us as we work the land in order to produce bountiful harvests that we can share with the larger community.

Each volunteer session will consist of at least two different tasks, based on the needs of the farm that day. This might include planting seeds in the greenhouse, transplanting seedlings into the garden, thinning the plant starts in the garden, weeding, mulching, and harvesting.

Please come ready to get dirty. We recommend clothes that you're okay with getting dirty/muddy, sturdy closed-toe shoes or boots, a sun hat, and a water bottle. Snacks will be provided.

We are happy to validate volunteer hours for schools and community organzations.

One of the ways we foster community here at Ma’alot Farms is through our Volunteer Farm Activities. Working at the farm provides volunteers an opportunity to experience life at the farm, get to know one another in smaller groups, gain skills to grow their own food, and assist in the desperately needed hunger relief work in Silicon Valley.

At Ma’alot Farms, we donate the vast majority of the produce we grow. The work of our volunteers contributes mightily in our ability to help feed a growing food-insecure community in Silicon Valley with high-quality, nutritious food produced in sustainable and regenerative ways.

While we have given our produce to a number of incredible organizations, currently our main community partner is Loaves and Fishes. Loaves and Fishes is working to remove the barriers to hunger relief in the Bay Area. We are proud to support their food pantry and love the fact that most of our produce is turned into meals and distributed within 48 hours of receipt.

Please note: we may cancel any session that does not meet a minimum of four attendees.
