Our lodge will join other volunteers at the Heart to Heart International facility in Lenexa to assemble small hygiene kits. These kits are small plastic bags with essential hygiene items (wash rag, soap, nail clipper, comb, etc.) that are distributed to people in areas impacted by disasters (e.g., hurricanes, floods, Israel and Gaza). Making a hygiene kit takes 30 seconds or less. There are roles that involve standing/moving about, and others that can be done while seated, so it's a good activity for all ages and abilities. The event is followed by a brief educational tour of Heart to Heart's facility and their mission.Schedule for the Saturday morning:
8:30 AM - Optional breakfast for those who are interested. Meet at the Black Bear Diner (11981 S. Strang Line Road, Olathe, KS). All are welcome to attend, even if you will not be joining us for the volunteer work. Attendees pay for their own meals.
10:00 AM – Meet at the Heart to Heart facility (11550 Renner Blvd, Lenexa, KS). We will get signed in and assist with any prep work for the event. The volunteer shift goes until 12:00 PM (or until supplies run out or the goal is met).

This event has space available for 100 volunteers. Sign ups are open to the public and are first come first serve. If capacity is reached, check back for cancellations.
