About this Event
We're always recieving inquiries about volunteer opportunities on our property, but to be honest, we've only held one volunteer day in our 20 years here and that was pre-COVID. We recently decided to put together a series of dates where people could come help out on the farm for a short bit and then have a bit of social time with our farm friends and family.
All skill levels are welcome! Come ready to learn a new skill, or put an old skill to good use. We are in the middle of a garden expansion and have many projects and chores to do there and as always, there are many projects and chores in the animal husbandry department and there may even be some opportunities in the pollinator/bee yard! The possibilities truly are endless! If there is a certain area you're more interested in helping with, let me know and I'll try to put something together.
On longer volunteer days, you can pick and choose your hours to fit your schedule. Just maybe send us a quick message letting us know when to expect you.
Children under 14 are welcome to join with an adult present. Let me know if this doesn't work out for you and we may be able to work out other accomodations. Because of the nature of these days we do ask that younger children requiring supervision not attend. I struggle to put an age on that, so for now, I'll trust your decision on that, as you know your child best!
Each volunteer day will have a main focus project to work on, however, we will always have smaller projects available as well. We will communicate with everyone registered if we think of other items you will need.
Things to bring: Work or garden gloves, water bottle, sunscreen/hat, close-toed shoes/boots (waterproof/rinsable shoes if wet and muddy)
We will have snacks/food available and waters.
As I said, this is a new thing for us, so we are open to new ideas if you have any to offer. You know how we do things... people ask and I try to make it happen. My goat is for this to be a productive, educational and FUN experience for us all. Let's see what we can do!
