About this Event
This event is located at our office near Burnaby Lake at 6825 Cariboo Road, Burnaby, BC and will run on March 15 from 10 am - 2 pm. This is a great opportunity for teens to get their volunteer hours or anyone who would like to help out a charity that teaches eco education.
Stream of Dreams Murals Society is a Canadian charity that delivers our award-winning 'Fish on Fences' program to educate elementary school children about protecting our streams through a unique science to art process.
We are asking for help to prepare supplies for upcoming 2025 school programs and our summer camps.
This will include:
- Cutting and bending wire ties that are used for attaching our wood fish to fences;
- Cutting up towels for brush blotting; and
- Cleaning and prepping raised garden beds, building some new garden beds.
No experience is necessary - just bring your enthusiasm and dress for the weather if you are helping with our garden. We'll provide all the materials and guidance needed. If you happen to have any old towels that can be cut up we would welcome you to bring them too. We will have some snacks and drinks for everyone too.
Our driveway is somewhat hidden - look for the orange cones on either side of our chain link fence along Cariboo Road. If taking transit, we are about a 10 minute walk from the Skytrain at Production Way/ University or right next to a bus stop for the 101. Just come in the big front door when you arrive. We look forward to seeing you!
