About this Event
If you love to hike trails and would like to work with a team of volunteers that Adopt-a-Trail at Olympic National Park, join us for our annual Volunteer Adopt-a-Trail Day. The training will cover trails maintenance skills, trails safety and accessible assessments, and get you signed up with the proper documentation to join the team. Each year we offer a volunteer trails training with our partners; the Backcountry Horsemen of WA, the Friends of Olympic National Park, and our Volunteer Trail leads (VTL). They will get you ready for regularly-occurring trails work or a periodic trails day. We do require the volunteer to assist a crew four times each year to participate in our Adopt-a-Trails program.
This should be a great day to come together and learn the basics about trails maintenance, get any updates about new procedures, annual volunteer trails opportunities all over Olympic National Park, trails safety and the proper procedure for getting signed up as an NPS volunteer with an Adopt-a-Trails group.
Thank you for supporting our National Parks!
