About this Event
Voices of Our Neighborhoods is a mobile public art project combining large-scale visual art with community-sourced audio to celebrate the diverse stories of Broward County. At its center is a 12'×7' modular mural made entirely of colored circles and dots, symbolizing unity. Earthy Everglades tones blend into bright ocean blues, with the center reflecting the colors of each Broward district, all anchored by an outlined county map. Community engagement drives the project: residents of all ages will join mural-painting sessions workshops. We will gather 15 personal stories—memories, poems, songs, and spoken word—each paired with a painted wooden cutout of the storyteller’s home, a plexiglass portrait, and a QR code linking to their audio. The mural will debut at the Deerfield Beach Historical Society Museum and Cultural Center on June 5.2026, then travel to at least four libraries each month from July through October 2026.
Please note this is an acrylic paint workshop happening outside, under tents, during Broward County Library's
