Voices of Historic Preservation- Live!
Celebrate Historic Preservation Month with the Friends of Wausau Historic Landmarks at a night of special presentations.
Ben Tyjeski of Tyjeski Tiles Company (https://www.tyjeskitile.com) carries on the tradition of art tiles reminiscent of the Arts and Crafts movement. He has also authored several books, including "The Animal Tiles of East High" which documents the tiles in old Wausau High School (7th Street). His presentation will explore the terracotta and tiles of Wausau and the area.
Christine Martens, of Friends of Wausau Historic Landmarks, takes a look at the history of Sears Catalog homes, a few local examples, and clues to identifying Sears homes.
The presentation will take place in the lower level of the old White Water Hall. Park in the lot and enter through the first door.
