Join us for the premiers of five new short films and an insight into the world's of our filmmakersAbout this Event
Voices Film Night – with premiers of five new short films. This is at Gloucester Guildhall, on Wednesday 29th January at 7:30PM - an opportunity to gain a unique insight into the world’s of our film-makers, and also get to know the work of Voices Gloucester.
The films include:
- The Premier of Voices Gloucester – Our Story 2021-2024 – showcasing the people and projects of the last three years.
- Dordi Dordi Dikka Kie (Oh dear look at this) – insightful reflections from Kelly Horsley and filmmaker Sam Walton, exploring the perception of the Romany Traveller community, its representation and the impact of media narratives.
- Gloucester’s First Chinese School – the final film in this series by Rider Shafique and Callum Chaplin celebrating the heritage of the city’s Chinese community and the school created to teach Chinese language and culture.
- Gloucester Rolling – discover the developing community and culture of Gloucester’s skatepark with film maker Callum Docksey.
- Hucclecote Woman – a film by Ashley Mackenzie-White and Christina Wheeler, who bring one woman’s history to life - imagining and honouring the life of ‘Hucclecote Woman’ whose Roman remains are on display in the Museum of Gloucester.
This is a free event, though places are limited, and you do need to book. There will be a paid bar at the venue. We hope you can join us.
