Register Now: [email protected]Visit the traveling Smithsonian Exhibit “Voices and Votes - American Democracy,” an interactive exhibit that talks about the history of American government and voting, beginning with the Revolution. The Center is one of only 12 sites where this exhibit will travel in New York State. It will be at the Center April 18 - May 30.
This event is designed to meet the requirements of democracy badges at Girl Scout levels, Brownie - Ambassador.
Girl Scouts and their families will get to tour the exhibit and learn about how members of the Onondaga Nation met with our Founding Fathers to teach them about the Haudenosaunee Great Law of Peace. The girls will also learn about the role of women (Clan Mothers) in Native culture and how they are the governing body of their tribes.
There will be Haudenosaunee food samples from Indigenous culture bearers, activities and games.
*Activities are appropriate for girls ages 7 and up.
The cost is $12 per person for this exclusive event dedicated to Girl Scouts and their families. There is free parking at the Center.
