Voci Community Choir, a Columbia Gorge Orchestra Association vocal ensemble, is thrilled to announce their upcoming choir concert, "Our Shared Humanity." This evening of choral music promises to captivate audiences with a diverse selection of songs spanning various eras and genres.Under the artistic direction of Dan Kenealy, Voci has been celebrated for its vocal artistry and commitment to creating unforgettable musical experiences. "Our Shared Humanity" is poised to continue this tradition by taking attendees on a remarkable journey through various musical genres and themes, exploring the rich tapestry of human expression through song.
This concert will feature a repertoire that includes contemporary choral works based on the poetry of Maya Angelou, Paul Laurence Dunbar, Wendell Berry, and Ogden Nash; a world premiere of a piece commissioned by Tina Castañares of Hood River and composed by Mark Steighner; world music and gospel selections; and lighter selections from the musical Sunset Boulevard and the critically acclaimed film La La Land.

The choir performs on Friday, April 26 at 7 PM and on Sunday, April 28 at 2 PM. Both performances are at the Hood River Valley Christian Church, 975 Indian Creek Rd., Hood River, OR. Tickets are $25 for adults, $15 for CGOA members, and free for students (show student ID at the door).
The concerts are part of a season that includes a number of upcoming performances by the Jazz Collective Big Band, Sinfonietta, Stages Musical Theatre and the Voci Choir. The concerts are supported in part by this season’s headline sponsor, Columbia Gorge Toyota and Honda.
