About this Event
Prepare for the Festive Season with this blissful class especially designed to ease you gently into an oasis of calm and soothe your soul...it's been a long year and it's difficult to avoid stress at the best of times..but with lovely Yin holds and specially hand-picked music tracks you will leave feeling peaceful and calm, ready for the busy time ahead.
A beautiful cup of cacao will await you to move into this special space, and your guided meditation will include a moment to set an intention for the coming year...whether this is personal healing for yourself or a loved one, empowerment, or more clarity in your life.
The rest of the class will be devoted to some beautiful Yin holds, to fully integrate any physical or emotional sensations that arise. So we'll be getting super-cosy, please bring your mat and plenty of props ie cushions, bolsters, blankets and fluffy socks to make a lovely nest for yourself.
Although in Seasonal Yoga, which follows the Chinese calendar, it is still Autumn, we have been feeling the nights drawing in for a good while in Glasgow, and some of us may be feeling our inner vitality a little depleted. So some of our Yin Yoga will include holds for our Kidney Qi, to help us recharge and feel more refreshed for this last month of 2024 and on into the Winter season, so maybe wear something that will cover your kidney areas rather than crop tops for this one! Bring whatever makes you feel most comfortable.
In this class there will be no expectation to do any voicework, I know that for some this involves coming out of your comfort zone, and this class is 100% about pampering YOU. Of course there will be an option to work gently with the voice for those that want to follow along, but the important focus is on deep immersion in your own Sacred Space.
I am blessed to know a lovely harpist, Grace Guse, who is coming along to play some heavenly sounds for us during Sivasana, following this I will guide you through a Yoga Nidra and Soundbath, we aim to leave you as nurtured and relaxed as we know how!
Places are limited to 12 for this class, so early booking is advised.

***Disclaimer***
This workshop will be a very gentle and restorative experience. However, please consult your health practitioner if you have any concerns about taking cacao. It will be a low 10g dose, sweetened with (vegan) Agave Nectar and there will be plant milk provided.
Cacao's active ingredient is the alkaloid theobromine, from the caffeine family. The nitric oxide helps relax your arteries and blood vessels, which helps your blood flow better. Cacao also has been shown to lower your LDL, or "bad," cholesterol and reduce inflammation, both of which may lower your chances of having a heart attack or stroke.
However if you have a heart condition or are on blood thinners, have high blood pressure or diabetes it is best to take advice from your GP, and there could also risks with pregnancy and breastfeeding. I have had to avoid chocolate for the past few years due to migraines, but I have found that a regular low (max 10g) dose of cacao actually has a positive effect on my health. It is not for everyone though, and your attendance is on the understanding that it is entirely at your own risk β please confirm this by return email, thank you π
General info - I am not a shaman! However over an extensive period I have attended a variety of shamanic workshops, which have included drumming, voicework, ecstatic dance and rituals in womenβs spirituality (led by Vicki Noble from Berkeley, California). I am also an experienced Vocal and Breathwork Coach and Celtic Reiki Level III Practitioner. For the past 5 years have been teaching Seasonal Yoga with breathwork, voicework, meditation, healing circles and soundbaths. Reviews of my work can be found at www.vocayoga.co.uk
