Join us for a special evening with Ken Autreay, author of "Vocation" - a poetry collection that explores how identity, work, and purpose shape our lives. Through vivid portraits of family, reflections on teaching and creativity, and meditations on travel and calling, these poems invite us to consider the deeper meaning of vocation.Thursday, September 25, 5-7 p.m. in the Sunny Slope Annex at 1031 S College Street in Auburn. Ken Autrey grew up in Auburn and lived elsewhere for 50 years before retiring and returning home. He is Professor Emeritus in English at Francis Marion University where he taught poetry, creative nonfiction, and advanced composition. He has published four poetry chapbooks – Pilgrims, Rope Lesson, The Wake of the Year, and Penelope in Repose – and two full-length collections, Circulation and Vocation. Autrey helps coordinate the Third Thursday Literary Series and teaches poetry writing classes for OLLI where he has been a member for more than 10 years. He has one wife (Janne Debes), two daughters, and six grandchildren.
