After a dream-run of Rooftop parties, attracting a nomination for FBi Radio's SMAC Award for Best Live Event, Bare Necessities has teamed up with VIVID Sydney to scale things up, for the first ever Bare Necessities Festival.
Taking over Sydney's Tumbalong Park for one night only, it's going to be 'your world tour of dance floors across the globe' in live form!
19-piece women's drumming crew Ile Ilu bring a huge energy with Samba rhythms and Batucada and Anieszka steps outside of the Soul & R&B spaces she's know for to rep her Mauritian roots with a Sega performance complete with dancers, traditional dress, and live Mauritian Percussion with Les Papillons. Vinny Lunar brings some South Asian spice, singing in Telugu, Hindi and English, while renowned Ghanaian dancer / choreographer Lucky Lartey leads a percussion and dance troupe Lucky African Dance - a collection of masterful drummers and dancers from across West Africa. Colombia is strongly represented as OroAna and Danny Telas combine Indigenous and Afro-Colombian traditions with electronic beats, joined by the dancers of the Colombian Cultural & Folkloric Organisation. Expect cameos from True Vibenation, rising Ghanaian-Australian rapper Yawdoesitall, South African Rapper/Singer Purpose and dance duo Kasi Vibes bring a range of Southern African dance styles to the big stage.
All tied together by the Horn Section and rhythms of Bare Necessities Collective - Klue, Zhee Lin, Vuli, Dom Diaz, Moody, Danny Telas and Dean Ginsberg.
With Dj sets from Bare Necessities Rooftop Party favourites Lady Chika, Nicole Tania, E.T Le Createur, Listen To Bronte, and Luny, joined by Gabzak on Saxophone.
