Launch of the Canada Virtuoso Ensemble

Toronto, ON – October 2025 – A new professional chamber orchestra, the Canada Virtuoso Ensemble, makes its highly anticipated debut with an exciting baroque program, “Vivaldi’s Four Seasons & Handel’s Water Music The concert takes place on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at 3:00 PM at the Glenn Gould Studio (250 Front Street West, Toronto).

The performance will showcase two of Canada’s brightest young soloists:

  • Davie Baik, violin – an award-winning artist under 30, praised for his expressive interpretations and dazzling technique.
  • Beverly Wang, oboe – a rising star recognized for her lyrical artistry and vibrant stage presence.

Both artists, at the beginning of remarkable international careers, will perform alongside the newly formed Canada Virtuoso Ensemble under the baton of Maestro Carlos Bastidas.

Maestro Bastidas is widely recognized as one of Canada’s most dynamic conductors. A distinguished artistic leader, he has conducted across North America, Latin America, and Europe, and is celebrated for his innovative programming and commitment to bringing classical music to wider audiences. His reputation for precision, passion, and vision has established him as a respected figure in the orchestral world.

  • Vivaldi – The Four Seasons
  • Marcello – Oboe Concerto in D minor
  • Geminiani – Concerto Grosso in D minor “La Folia”
  • Handel – Selections from Water Music

This debut concert offers audiences the chance to experience the brilliance of the next generation of classical soloists, guided by one of Canada’s most prestigious conductors.
