Nordlandsruta er Norges lengste markerte tursti, som krysser tre nasjonalparker, verdensarvområde Laponia, samiske områder og polarsirkelen. Filmen følger fire forskjellige turfølger som går deler av Nordlandsruta gjennom ulike sesonger, og utforsker de personlige historiene til vandrerne og deres motivasjon for naturopplevelser. For noen handler Nordlandsruta om det enkle friluftslivet og for andre er det en læringsreise i forfedres fotspor. Filmen varer i 18 minutter og er på engelsk.
The Nordland Trekking Trail is a short film that follows several individuals as they hike parts of the trail. This is a 650-kilometer-long trail which is crossing three national parks, world heritage site Laponia, ancient Sami lands and the Arctic Circle itself.
The film delves into the personal stories of these trekkers, revealing what is their motivation for the simple outdoor life (friluftsliv). For some, it is a quest for adventure and solitude, for others, a pilgrimage to reconnect with the land and traditions of their ancestors.
