About this Event
Join Mary Ann Stewart from Fresh Cercle for this informative hands-on workshop at Boston Public Market FiberFest 2025. Learn to repair your snagged, torn, or stained clothing with visible mending and embroidered enhancements to give renewed life to your garments 🧵
Each participant will bring a clothing item in need of repair (i.e., knitted sweater or woven shirt with a hole, snag, or tear no larger than 3 inches). During this workshop, participants will learn mending basics and go-to repairs including seed, star, basketweave, and eyelet stitches to repair their damaged item. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced mender, this workshop is perfect for those who want to learn the art of visible mending and transform their snagged, torn, or stained clothing into unique, stylish pieces. You'll leave the workshop with at least one completed repair and the skills and tools you need to extend the life of your wardrobe sustainably.
The materials kit included in the cost of registration includes the following:
- wooden darning mushroom
- elastic to hold it in place
- darning needles
- needle threader
- a beautiful bundle of yarns including sashiko cotton, cashmere, and mohair
- several sizes of fabric patches for future clothing repairs to make at home
Tickets are limited, so book now to guarantee your spot!
