Creative Repair or visible mending is the art of repairing clothing and textiles with the intention of the repair being seen, celebrating the fabric and history of the textiles. Visible mending lengthens the life of fabrics, in turn caring for our environment and planet.
Creative repair is also a fantastic way to update those garments we all have that just aren't 'me' any more but too good to get rid of- and you can guarantee nobody will have the same clothes as you!
This workshop will introduce you to a selection of creative repair techniques to inspire future repairs or upcycling clothing and other textiles.
You'll create a series of mini samples exploring a range of creative repair skills. If you would like to bring a garment to repair please feel free, although this is not necessary.
All materials are included. Suitable for all levels of experience, including beginners through to the more accomplished embroiderer.
