Carbondale Arts presents "Visceral Alchemy: Fine Art + Tattoo" curated by Sarah Overbeck and Matt Hays. A group invitational featuring 21 tattoo artists primarily from Colorado as well as other parts of the country, who also have a fine art practice."Visceral Alchemy" celebrates transformation in its most personal and enduring form. This exhibition explores the powerful act of creating—or receiving—artwork that lasts a lifetime. Tattooers are constantly creating, regularly translating deeply personal ideas into original works of art, blending in their own style and aesthetic. Their process is both collaborative and expressive.
The opening reception is Friday, May 29 from 5-7pm with curator and artist introductions at 5:30pm.
