Murdoch Stephens founded the successful Double the Refugee Quota campaign in 2013. Since then he has worked as a researcher and policy expert for universities and not-for-profits. He is an author, publisher and Fulbright Scholar. His previous non-fiction includes the 2018 book "Doing Our Bit: the campaign to double the refugee quota".
