What is the future of American trade policy in the age of Trump? Should policymakers prioritize domestic production over reducing costs?
About this Event

Topic: “American trade policy should prioritize support for a dominant industrial base even if it involves levying tariffs and expanding government subsidies.”

Format:

Two experts on the right will engage in a debate on this topic, with New America’s Michael Lind arguing the affirmative and the American Enterprise Institute’s Michael R. Strain arguing the negative. Each debater will have 5 minutes to present their position, followed by 45 minutes of moderated question and response. Good faith conservatives can find themselves on either side of this debate, so join us as we explore the topic with what is sure to be a vigorous and insightful discussion.
