This session is to provide our local communities with accurate information about local native snake species and how to accurately ID them safely. "Not every snake with a pattern is a Copperhead!"During this session individuals will learn about the most common species of snakes found in the local area, how to accurately identify them, how they play an important role in our environment, and we will also bust up snake myths. Individuals will also be able to see these amazing animals up close on display and even handle a few of our ambassadors at the end of the presentation!
We will also discuss some "DIY" best practices of how to limit snakes from coming into your yard/house. There will also be a demo on how to remove a snake/reptile from a sticky trap and a quick review of the equipment used in the field.
Kids are welcome, but there is a lecture portion they may be boring for kids under 12 years of age.
No RSVP required, just show up and grab a beverage and/or bite to eat (from the Old Bust Head Kitchen) and enjoy talking local snakes. The event fee is $10 per person or $20 per family. All proceeds go towards the program and other local conversation work.
Payment can be made by cash, check, Venmo, PayPal, Zelle and paid at that event.
Hope to see you there!
