About this Event
The Viola da gamba is a stringed instrument from the Baroque era. It looks somewhat like a Cello, but is held between the musician's knees (da gamba is Italian for "the legs"). The strings are made from gut, rather than the modern steel, resulting in a haunting, 'singing" tone. The intimate acoustic of Philander Hall will show the instrument at its finest. Charles Rasmussen will be accompanied by Harpsichord. Seating is limited!
