Our first session of 2026 sees our good friend Annie present Infected by The The in the year that marks the 40th anniversary of its release.
The second album by the artist - namely Matt Johnson - the LP is a kind of state of nation address for where Britain was at the time, as well as tackling other geopolitical subjects.
Despite it being described as post-punk, Infected utilises some some of the best session musicians of the time, including, amongst others, past or present members of ABC, The Art of Noise, Marillion and our old friend Neneh Cherry.
The album also became a film with each of the tracks having its own separate video to go along with the music.
Although not a massive seller at the time of release, Infected has grown in stature over the years and frequently finds a place on Best Albums and Albums You Need To Hear lists.
This is going to be a great way to kick off our 2026 programme.
