Organized by Sloane Simmons of S.A.S. Events, this special event will take place at the stunning European-style Chateau de Lis. Experience the magic of vintage fashion as talented models don retro styles, providing you with a unique backdrop for capturing stunning portraits. Throughout the 6-hour workshop, you will gain practical skills that are immediately applicable to your photography practice. The program includes two engaging hours of direct instruction from Fritz where you'll learn how to sculpt light, balance ambient and flash, and bring out the best in your subjects. After learning from Fritz's instruction, you'll dive into hands-on shooting time with Fritz's input and feedback, where you’ll apply what you've learned. You'll be working with professional models in vintage dress, with a small student-model ratio, so you'll have lots of opportunity to practice what you're learning, and add beautiful images to your portfolio. This personalized oversight allows for immediate feedback, ensuring you develop confidence and precision in your shooting.
Following a brief intermission, Fritz will deliver another outdoor demonstration that will further clarify advanced techniques before you take to the set again. With additional shooting time, you’ll have the chance to experiment, be creative, and explore your unique photographic vision. You'll engage in immersive learning while capturing incredible portraits, all with the guidance of a seasoned pro. Breaks are included to recharge and network with fellow photographers.

Fritz Liedtke is a professional photographer and artist, with a BFA in photography. He's won numerous awards, grants, and residencies for his work, and his images have been widely published by magazines such as National Geographic, Lenswork, Professional Photographer, and more. His artwork is held in numerous museum collections in the US and abroad. Fritz has been teaching his popular photography workshops for over 20 years, from Portland to Provence, Santa Fe to Tibet. His passion for the art of photography, combined with his extensive knowledge and experience, make for fun workshops that are jam-packed with great information; he loves helping his students grow as artists.
