Singer, troubadour, visionary. VINICIO CAPOSSELA (Hannover, 1965) debuts in 1990 with the record
All'una e trentacinque circa, winning his first Targa Tenco award. He then releases Modì (1992),
Camera a sud (1994), Il ballo di San Vito (1996) and, two years later, his first live
record Liveinvolvo. In 2000, Capossela releases Canzoni a Manovella, and in 2004 he releases his first novel published by Feltrinelli, “Non si muore tutte le mattine”.
The following records Ovunque Proteggi (2006), Da Solo (2008) and Marinai Profeti e Balene (2011) pivot around two different themes on humanity, represented respectively through
two very successful shows.
In 2012, Rebetiko Gymnastas re-presents past songs in a rebetiko key, a musical genre his book
Tefteri (il Saggiatore) and the movie Indebito are centered upon.
In 2013, Capossela creates the festival Sponz Fest, of which he’s still the artistic director. The festival
has now reached its 10th edition.
In the same production year of Primo ballo with Banda della posta, he works on popular ballroom music. In 2017, Capossela won the prestigious award Premio Tenco.
In 2019 he releases Ballate per uomini e bestie, winner of Targa Tenco as well.
On February 14th of 2020, Capossela releases his troubadour EP Bestiario d’amore.
In 2021, consequently to the live music scene interruption due to the pandemic emergency, Vinicio Capossela goes back touring with Bestiario d’amore and debuts with the show “Bestiale Comedìa”, a celebrative concert for the 700 years since the death of Dante Alighieri, intertwining the tour with
important dates of the tour Personal Standards, where he retraces the tracks from his first albums.
