Join the Village Harmony Multicultural choir for a night of celebration of songs from different parts of the world notably that of South Africa, Madagascar, USA, Georgia, Corsica and Aotearoa. The singers are from the US, Canada, UK, Singapore, Germany and Taiwan. Join this opportunity to meet these fabulous singers visiting Aotearoa and meeting local choirs, offering workshops and fundraising concerts for local communities along the way.The group is led by song leaders Matlakala Bopape from South Africa, Patty Cuyler from the United States and, Lala Simpson from Madagascar/Aotearoa. After a week of intensive learning, this will be the group's last concert in New Zealand after a series of concerts in Hawkes Bay and Kapiti.
All the profits from this concert will be donated to St Peter's on Willis church to support them in their work and support of the local communities in Wellington.
Village Harmony, Inc is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) educational organization dedicated to the study, performance, and celebration of diverse styles of traditional choral music. Working with an international team of culture-bearing musicians we provide a wide range of educational and performance opportunities for amateur musicians around the world. Our aim is to promote cultural awareness and community through direct and ethical cultural exchange.
Based in central Vermont, USA with activities around the world, we welcome singers of all colors, creeds, ethnicities, nationalities, orientations, and socio-economic backgrounds.
