“Khamosh! Adalat Jari Hai” is a Hindi translation of the Marathi play “Shantatah! Court Chalu Aahe” written by renowned playwright Sh. Vijay Tendulkar. The plot is set in true retrograde fashion, a mock trial, with a truly bonafide theme. A scintillating case of a woman ahead of her time versus an egoistic and hypocritical jury, and a lawyer with an agenda. Inspired by real life events, the story elegantly rolls out in a mise en abyme, all the while highlighting the misogyny and bigotry of crew members, who were attempting to soil the integrity of fellow colleagues and teacher. This was one of the most groundbreaking plays in Tendulkar’s career and Mukhavaran Theatre Group is honored to perform on this intriguing story, giving a tribute to the author by reinforcing his point of view.
