The Vigil for Life is held annually at the Cathedral in conjunction with the national observance of a Day of Prayer and Penance on January 22. The purpose of the Vigil is to bring Catholics together in prayerful solidarity for: - increased respect for the dignity of human life from conception
to natural death
- forgiveness and healing for all those wounded by abortion
- peace for those facing death and terminal illness, and
- holiness within the Church to transform the culture
