This is a peaceful vigil where we will bear witness to the animals being taken into the slaughterhouses.We will start the vigil at leansale at 7am and then proceed to Pak Mecca Meats at 8am.
We will be avoiding any confrontation and therefore will not engage with the slaughterhouse staff.
These slaughterhouses are just by busy main roads and surrounded by shops and houses.
- Everyone is free to attend at whatever time they wish during the scheduled event times.
- Treat the staff at the slaughterhouse with respect and ignore any abuse that may be directed at us.
- Make sure not to walk or run infront of the trucks as they drive in.
- Ask the staff/drivers or hold signs asking the driver to stop for 3 minutes for us to say goodbye to the animals.
- Speak quietly and gently to the animals so as not to distress them further.
- Take as many photos and videos as possible. Aswell as being there to comfort the animals we are there to show people the victims of the meat and dairy trade.
- Selfie sticks come in handy for taking photos inside the multi level trucks
