About this Event
FEATURING Jim McGrath as Carl Jung, Ron Orbach as Sigmund Freud, and Zoane Chiu on violin.
In the first-ever dramatic performance at The Sanctuary Studio, two towering figures of psychoanalysis meet as colleagues and friends—only to be torn apart by irreconcilable ideas. As Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud struggle to define the future of their emerging discipline, their once-close bond fractures into rivalry, shaping the course of modern psychology.
Playwright and actor Jim McGrath, an Ovation Award winner, has seen his work produced at the Goodman Theatre, the Passage Theatre, The Directors’ Company in New York, and major stages in Los Angeles. He has also enjoyed a distinguished career in television and film as a writer, producer, and screenwriter.
Opposite him, Ron Orbach brings four decades of stage, film, and television experience, including the original Broadway production of Laughter on the 23rd Floor, international tours of Chicago (Jeff Award winner), and notable appearances in Fiddler on the Roof, Cabaret, Clueless, and numerous television series. Orbach is also an Ovation Award–winning director and a highly respected acting teacher.
Having collaborated for over forty years, McGrath and Orbach bring rare depth, chemistry, and insight to this compelling theatrical encounter—an intimate, intellectually charged evening exploring friendship, ambition, and the clash of ideas that changed the modern world.
