About this Event
In conjunction with please join the the MIT List Visual Arts Center and MIT Art, Culture and Technology for an evening of experimental sound and visual performance, “The Predictability of Unpredictability*…” by Andrew Neumann.
This performance, originally conceived as a small system designed for solo improvisation has for the past year been going through a series of new permutations; sonically, structurally, and physically. Employing a Buchla Music System as the main sound source, this analog synthesizer works in conjunction with a custom designed video switching system controlled by a laptop, allowing the system to cut and manipulate video cameras and prerecorded images in real time. The notion of “unpredictability” in this scenario is, one may assume predictably high! This evening's performance is broken down into two distinctive sections: Part 1: “False Electronic Alert” and Part 2: “Feedback Systems.”
