Description:
As clinical and pastoral counselors, how many of us have worked with clients who are struggling with identifying and/or pursuing career goals or a new job? (Most of us, I’ll bet!) In this lively, interactive 3-hr. CEU session, you will explore a sample of proven strategies that help jobseekers at all stages of their careers find the work that honors their skills, passions, and sense of meaning.
Learning Objectives:
? Experience a powerful visualization that can help spark potential career/life goals for your clients.
? Identify the qualities of outstanding accomplishment statements: the cornerstones of the most successful resumes, interviews, and self-marketing.
? Increase appreciation for the power of networking effectively.
? Understand a few guidelines for career/job research and using the Internet.
Speaker Bio:
Your facilitator and co-learner, Deb Rollison, is a retired career coach, trainer/consultant, and pastoral counselor. In her career development work, she focused on helping mid-level Federal employees transition into private-sector opportunities and otherwise find work that honored their goals, skills, and interests. Following her own career advice, she returned to school to pursue studies in pastoral clinical counseling. During her clinical work, Deb specialized in helping adults navigate the challenges of depression, anxiety, loss and grief, career and life transitions, communications skills, and relationship building. She earned an M.A. in Management and Supervision from Central Michigan University, and M. S. and Ph.D. degrees in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola University Maryland.
