Learn the skills of a Victorian Hat Maker in this unique workshop at Blists Hill Victorian Town.As you step back in time to 1900 you'll be met by one of our experts before being kitted out in authentic Victorian attire.
You will then go on an exclusive tour of the Blists Hill Costume Department before sitting down for a 30 minute introductory talk about the fascinating history of Victorian hats, their intricate decoration and the traditional techniques that were used.
Then, it's time to get creative! Under the expert guidance of one of our Costume team, you will have the opportunity to design and decorate your own Victorian straw boater hat.
Once you've finished your hat, you can take the short walk through the town to Mr Smitheman’s photography studio for a commemorative photograph before ending your day and returning to the 21st Century.
