Get into the festive spirit from the moment you step through the front door – enjoy the holly and ivy decorating the historic rooms and discover how well-off families feasted. Visit the Victorian kitchen, full of seasonal scents of cinnamon and nutmeg, where the housekeeper might reveal the secrets of a real plum pudding and help you make your own place name card. There will be festive music from the Crickmore Crewe in the Long Gallery, and craft activities for children in the Nursery. Father Christmas will also be here, to add that special sparkle to your visit (please ring 01282 771004 to book a slot in advance). You might find a special gift in the Gawthorpe shop, or in the handmade gifts on sale from the Friends of Gawthorpe. Then warm your way home with a hot drink and snack from the Coffee Vintage van.
Admission charge - £7 adults, children FREE. Please note all visitors must pay admission for this special opening of the Hall (includes National Trust members).
Last entry is at 3pm.
