Started out in the dance scene back in the late 90's, Victor began his journey at Sydney’s radio station WILD FM while working at a small boutique music store ‘Bar Musica’ in Leichhardt (Sydneys Inner West) for long time mentor ‘DJ Lenno’ soon after had signed his first record deal to Australia’s iconic dance label ‘Dinky Records - CSR’ then released a string of tracks & remixes like ‘Be With You ft. KCB, Break It Down, Cinderella (Phillip Ruston), In My Eyes (Milk Ink) which lead him compiling and producing the Wild15 Compilation.
From the age of 20 he had already toured across Australia playing nationally then found himself playing shows in London, Amsterdam, Brussels and across the globe to Argentina, Peru and his parents homeland Uruguay in South America.
By the age of 22 i had felt satisfied to have accomplished a lot in such a short time that he made the switch of genre from the EDM/ NRG Scene into the HipHop/Reggae scene.
In 2003 he opened up western Sydney's first ever Hip Hop/ Record Store named Lopez Records. Located in Penrith the store was one of 5 stores he would eventually open in a 13year period. By 2010 he would diversify his business and opened up a barbershop, graffiti paint shop, dj school and opened a professional recording studio which saw the likes of Bone Thugs & Harmony, Hopsin, Dead Prez, Kerser, Kurupt (Tha Dogg Pound), Immortal Technique, Pharaohe Monch and many others.
During that time Victor Lopez had been a prolific DJ in numerous Clubs & Venues across the country and was the official tour DJ for Australia’s biggest HipHop artist ‘Kerser’. ‘Lopez also had the privilege to DJ for ‘New York’ hardcore rap group ONYX (fredro starr & sticky fingaz) Chino XL & Bone Thugs & Harmony.
Aside from the DJ’ing ‘Victor Lopez has recorded and produced for artists such as BTNH, Hopsin, Dizzy Wright, Lil Eazy E, Jarren Benton, Evidence Dilated Peoples, Onyx, Das Efx, Tony Touch, Swizzz, Kurupt, Krizz Kaliko, Tha Alkaholiks, Beatnuts and many others.. All tracks recorded at Lopez Records Studio.
By 2014 Victor Lopez had supported over 100 international artists which included performing alongside Snoop Dogg in Adelaide, He also performed for Kerser in front of 30,000 at the Goodlife Festival, Big Day Out and was Kevin Lyttle’s official DJ at Australia’s largest RNB festival- RNB LIVE 2016.
In 2017. Victor started his own touring company which seen him bring out artists such as ‘Rock City, Pretty Ricky, Kevin Lyttle, Iyaz, Dante Thomas, Max-A-Million, DJ UNK, Tony Sunshine (Terror Squad), Onyx, Blacksheep, Tony Touch, Cali Swag District, Anthony B, Da’Ville, Charly Black, Hopsin, Jaro Local, DMP, Onetox, Kali-D & Small Jam. Having set a stronghold in the touring game in such a short time ‘Lopez’ reached new heights from simply touring artists to Australia to holding shows in Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Myanmar, Vietnam, New Zealand, Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Fiji & Cook Islands.
By late 2018 early 2019 ‘Victor Lopez would find himself beating all odds by touring Solomon Island giants ‘DMP’ for a whopping 40 shows in 3 months across the whole of Australia. Historically holding the record as the largest tour in history for any pacific island artist. Having successfully completed the tour Victor Lopez would embark in the managerial role for Solomon Islands award winning reggae band ‘DMP and later become the manager for artists such as ‘Small jam, Dehvande & OFB Yung of the Cali Swag District.
2020 would see the rebirth of ‘Lopez Records’ as an official ‘Island Reggae’ label headed by DMP, Small Jam, Blad P2A, Mossa, Evin Rush, Arak, SON, Jiu Kiu & Dehvande with plans to expand into Publishing & Distribution for artists in the pacific region.
Victor is currently working on DMP’s 5th Album as executive producer alongside SON (Hudson Matai) & DJ Liamz which will be released as a partnership with the worlds largest Independent reggae label ‘Ineffable Records’.
