About this Event
We shall strive to relate to ourselves and to each other more openly, consensually, and authentically through our entire embodied self. This includes our breath, our voice, and our senses, both internal and external, as well as our spirit, both conscious and unconscious. It is also an opportunity to face some of our shadows and to heal some of our spiritual wounds. Vichitra means queer in Sanskrit, but also wonderful, mysterious, diverse, and colorful. Moving beyond the heteronormativity and gender binarity that pervades most modern tantra, we believe that connection and communion with other human beings transcends physical attraction. Vichitra Tantra brings together insights and practices from Eastern tantric wisdom as well as Western neo-trantric traditions. Following ancient tantrikas, we believe that generating life force is a means of self-transcendence. However, like neo-tantrikas, we also regard sharing intimacy as end-in-itself. Intimacy is holistic: it can be verbal, spiritual, or physical. Our approach is empirical, pragmatic, non-dogmatic: nothing is mandatory; your experience is that which is most significant.

Your guide Swan Alyon is at the service of the creation of a new culture of intimacy. They hold graduate degrees in philosophy and divinity from UChicago and the University of Cambridge, certificates in yoga, tantra, and human permaculture, and also trained in physical theatre at Lecoq in Paris. They create spaces of empowerment in which to find greater creativity, connection, and joie de vivre by revealing the beauty of our shared human animality. They organize and facilitate events in Europe and North America such as Touch & Play, Mystical Eros, La Rencontre des REVES, or Durga’s Tiger School YTT.
