Eivind Vullum's label VIBRASJON feirer ny utgivelse med den polske saksofonisten og produsenten Jerzy Mączyński og hans solo debutalbum DO 555ps på HIMMEL denne kvelden. Konserten blir den aller første live-premieren av Mączyński's unike blanding av frijazz, Dark Ambient og Drone på hans lanseringsturné for albumet.
"Polish saxophonist, producer and composer Jerzy Mączyński fuses utopian electronics and organic improvisation on sci-fi jazz odyssey, DO 555ps.
Building on his 2023 collaboration with Jamal Moss aka Hieroglyphic Being, DO 555ps is Mączyński’s first self-produced album – a tour de force of spacious, galactic sound design that leans into drone, minimalism and the rich history of sci-fi soundtracks for a 10-track suite of astral proportions.
Mączyński’s sound is both maximalist and restrained, sensitive to detail and atmosphere, defying categorisation and swirling in an orbit of its own making. Set to be released on Eivind Vullum’s Vibrasjon label in Norway, DO 555ps follows the 2023’s TUNE IN, made under Mączyński and Hieroglyphic Being’s Universal Harmonies & Frequencies moniker. Described by The Quietus as one of the most interesting records of the year (“as bold as it is massive”), TUNE IN laid the foundations for Mączyński to strike out alone on DO 555PS, inspired by Moss’s skewed production and arrangements to striking and unique effect."

I tillegg blir det også solosett med den sveitsiske trommeslageren Nicolas Stocker (KALI Trio, Maarja Nuut, Nik Bärtsch Mobile) samt et åpningsett av labelboss og gitarist Eivind Vullum. Disse tre er også aktuelle sammen i Eivind Vullum's trioprosjekt ALLVEI som gir ut sitt debutalbum vår 2025. Denne kvelden blir en gyllen mulighet til å høre de tre hver for seg solo, med den avsluttende premieren av Jerzy Mączyński's nye verk.
Nicolas Stocker (CH/NO)
Nicolas Stocker has established an international reputation as a melodic and highly sensitive drummer. His utilization of polyrhythms, textural layers, and explorations into melodic realms contribute to his distinct and recognizable sound. He co-leads the post-genre group KALI Trio and holds a central role in Nik Bärtsch's Mobile ensemble. Additionally, he engages in various projects that involve collaborations with artists such as Ricardo Villalobos, Areni Agbabian, Maarja Nuut, Eivind Vullum and Witch'n'Monk.
Based in Zurich and Oslo, Stocker has embarked on tours across Europe, the USA, and Asia, performing at renowned venues and festivals including the Elbphilharmonie, NYC Winterjazzfest, Barbican Centre, Montreux Jazz Festival, and Berghain. Past performances in Norway include Blå and Victoria Nasjonal Jazzscene.
In 2018, he released his debut solo album under Nik Bärtsch's label, Ronin Rhythm Records. Driven by a profound interest in experimental electronic music, he has developed a captivating network of rhythmic structures and ethereal sounds. Recently, he has expanded his acoustic setup to incorporate electronically modified instruments such as the zither, thumb pianos, and samples.
Eivind Vullum (NO)
Norwegian guitarist, synthesist and composer based in Oslo.
The form and shape of Vullum’s compositions reflects his background as a sound designer, which has had a strong influence on the dynamics and the narrative elements in his music. Following up his ambient solo-debut album “Ohms Love” (HMD Records 2022) Vullum started collaborating with the Polish saxophonist and composer Jerzy Maczynski and Swiss drummer Nicolas Stocker. The contribution of both Stocker and Maczynski’s playing has taken Vullum’s compositions into a more rhythmic, improvised and experimental direction live, with a natural continuation of Vullum’s signature of cinematic soundscapes, and includes elements from free jazz, orchestral drone and harmonic ambient music. This collaboration will be the main core of the trio's upcoming album "Allvei", released on Vullum's label VIBRASJON in May 2025.
