About this Event

VIBE Listening Party

Come join us at Creative Grounds for a night of good music, food, art, and good vibes! Our VIBE Listening Party is the place to be to mingle with fellow music lovers and just chill out. Vibe Festival of Wellness was launched in 2017 as the Alliance for Community Transformation and Wellness signature annual fundraiser. Vibe is an interactive educational experience for all ages showcasing trends and product innovations across a range of wellness domains. Participants can immerse themselves fully in a day of health and wellness while enjoying the very best the Inland Empire region has to offer in food, art, and music.

OUR HISTORY

The Alliance for Community Transformation and Wellness (ACTW) was established in 2014 in response to the stigma associated with caring for our mental health and with the goal of engaging the Inland Empire (IE) in conversations about, and action toward, mental health and wellness.

OUR MISSION

Access to counseling, support services and wellness education is critical to optimizing mental health and wellness across the lifespan. By helping to bridge the mental health workforce gap, our programs train counselors to be mental health leaders and advocates in their diverse Inland Empire communities, increase access to services throughout the region, and advance mental health and wellness literacy for vulnerable and high impact populations.

OUR VISION

Through rigorous counselor education, innovative supervision practices, and community engaged research ACTW seeks to bring services, information and resources to those suffering and their allies while working to end mental health discrimination.

OUR VALUES

In keeping with the University of Redlands, School of Education and Department of Counseling and Humans Services, ACTW engages a justice framework, considers a pluralistic notion of values, challenges assumptions and stereotypes, remains sensitive to contemporary trends in society and is committed to a lifetime of learning.

INCREASED NEED

Since the pandemic accessing mental health care is increasingly difficult. More people than ever before have experienced mass trauma and loss even as stigma about reaching out for help continues to decrease. In June of 2020, 40% of U.S. adults reported struggling with mental health or substance use. In 2021 nearly 14% of youth (age 12-17) report suffering from at least one major depressive episode in the past year. With a shortage of mental health professionals in the region and too few trained intentionally to lead regional, state, and national mental health initiatives, the system remains outdated and overburdened.

HOW ACTW CAN HELP

Well trained counselor advocates can help fill the mental health workforce gap that exists. Robust, quality, accessible counseling and support services will strengthen family resilience, support self-advocacy, promote personal empowerment, and advance us in our collective community healing. Simultaneously, giving intentional attention to gaining traction on regional, state, and national mental health initiatives.
