Attention lovers of the rougher genre! Viagra Boys are hitting the road again, and we’re all going to feel it. The Swedish band is coming to Brussels to shake Ancienne Belgique to its core with their gritty post-punk. Save the date: Saturday, April 26, for a night destined to carve out a spot in our collective memory.
Viagra Boys have been Stockholm’s underground sensation for years, thanks to their high-quality yet chaotic live shows, where cutting drums, hard-hitting guitars, saxophones, and keyboards come together in a blistering mix. Their performances are always a bullseye, earning them glowing reviews and a solid reputation among fans and critics worldwide. Masterfully led by Sebastian Murphy, an American who left San Francisco at the age of 17 to move to his mother's homeland, Sweden. According to legend, he met the rest of the band while covering a Mariah Carey song in a karaoke bar. Some of the six members come from the jazz world, others from the hardcore scene. All bound by a fiery touch of madness, they stand out for their use of absurdity as the ultimate weapon in delivering searing lyrics. With a playful yet razor-sharp sense of humor, they tackle the absurdities and contradictions of modern society.
With three blistering albums under their belt, Viagra Boys pack out venues and rock some of the world’s biggest festivals (Coachella, Rock Werchter, and more), thrilling fans with their unique sound.
