Join us for a breath of fresh air along the St. Croix River!Join two National Park Service rangers, both U.S. Marine Corps veterans, for a free snowshoe hike that connects veterans to the healing power of the Riverway. This outdoor activity offers reflection, winter immersion in nature, and a chance to connect with fellow veterans while benefiting your physical and mental health. After the snowshoe event, the rangers will host an optional BBQ.
If there isn’t enough snow, this event may be substituted with a hike.
This is a fully supported event. Participants will be provided with snowshoes.
Cost: FREE
Vehicle Admission: $13 (WI Residents) or $16 (out-of-state) for a daily pass or $28 (WI Residents) or $38 (out-of-state) for an annual pass
Hike Length: 3 Miles (Estimating about 2 Hours – loop trail)
Hike Difficulty: Medium (Terrain is mostly flat)
Bathrooms: Vault toilets are located at start and finish of the hike.
Where to Meet: 10:00AM at the Camp Interstate Shelter, Wisconsin Interstate State Park
What to bring:
● Adequate water
● Snacks
● Polarized sunglasses
● Binoculars
● Clothing that correlates to weather conditions (layers are best)
● Hat
● WI State Park Sticker/vehicle pass to park (carpooling recommended)
Cancelation Information:
For the safety of participants and staff, this program may be canceled due to inclement weather or a temperature of 0 degrees or below. Participants will be notified via email and event pages will be updated if the program is canceled.
Refund Policy:
There are no refunds for participant-initiated cancelations.
