FORMAT FOR FIRST 3 STAGES OF ALL SHOOTS:
- Non pointed events, no club or association affiliation, no dress code.
- Each event will be limited to 55 entries.
- Pre-entry for all level 1 through 6 riders will be required online at gunsplusaz.com (wranglers are not required to pre-enter).
- All entries fees will be collected at the event, with the exception of wranglers who will shoot/run for free.
- All events are cash only.
- Each rider may only enter once per event, multiple entries per rider will not be allowed, however, a rider may ride a different horse on each stage if they choose.
- This is not a points or shoot series, each event is a standalone event and no points will be tracked across events.
- Scoring is based on an overall clean shoot.
- CMSA rules apply apart from the dress code.
- Rider class levels will be based on the rider’s current CMSA class level on the date of each event.
- Level 1 riders have a 45 second time limit to complete each stage.
- Riders who are level 2 and higher will have 30 seconds to complete each stage.
- Riders who do not complete the stage within the time limit will receive one penalty.
- At each event, all riders will shoot stages 1 through 3.
- All overall clean shooters after 3 stages will split the day money evenly regardless of class level.
- If no one shoots clean, the pot will be carried over to the next event.
- There will be no time onlies at any events.
- Rider scratches after the first stage has started will not be refunded their entry fee.
- At each event the office will open for entry payment from 7:30am to 8:30am AZ time, with the first stage of the event starting at 9am AZ time.
- Event dates and start times are subject to change due to weather or rain/wind delays.
- Ammo is not included, bring your own CMSA or USMS certified ammo or ammo will be available for purchase at each event. No reloaded ammo allowed.
ADDITIONAL RULES FOR GUNS PLUS OPEN/LIMITED SHOOTOUT - APPLICABLE TO NOVEMBER, DECEMBER, FEBRUARY, AND MARCH EVENTS ONLY:
- Separate from the day money, $250 will be sponsored by Guns Plus at each event for a fourth stage shootout.
- The top 5 clean limited riders (levels 1 through 3) and top 5 clean open riders (levels 4 through 6) after the 3 stages of the main event will advance to the fourth stage shootout.
- There will be no gender or senior splits.
- If there is 1 or more clean limited or clean open riders but less than 5 clean limited or 5 open riders after the 3 stages, they will still advance to the fourth stage shootout and must shoot to be eligible for the added money.
- The $250 will be split between the overall open and limited stage 4 shootout riders regardless of being clean, giving $125 to the open winner and $125 to the limited winner.
- If there are only clean open or only clean limited riders after the 3 stages of the main event they will still advance to the fourth stage shootout, but will run for the full $250.
- If there are no clean open or limited riders after the 3 stages of the main event there will be no fourth stage shoot.
