U.S. veterans and current service members are invited to register for our September 12th Lunch & Learn featuring special guest Jeremy Perkins of The Goats Forge. Utilizing a coal forge outside in our Granada Pavilion Courtyard, Jeremy will demonstrate how to make a bottle opener and a grill flipper. He’ll discuss tools of the trade, explain processes, and answer questions from attendees. Between the two project demos, Jeremy and the group will venture inside the OMAM Classroom to enjoy their free Publix lunch (choice of sub or salad selected at registration) and participants will get a chance to view finished items from The Goats Forge. Jeremy is a retired Navy veteran with 28 years of service who has been interested in the art of blacksmithing since he was a child."We used to take family trips to the local living museum in Western New York and would find myself mesmerized at the blacksmith shop. Over the next 35+ years I have played around with the blacksmithing trade and read books on the topic as well as any videos available. It wasn’t until 2015 that I was introduced to the local Blacksmith Guild and was able to acquire a forge, anvil, and some basic tools for my passion to turn into reality."
Our FREE Lunch & Learn program is ONLY open to veterans and current service members. Registration is required as seats are limited. Sign up at bit.ly/vetlunch912
