Informational meeting for veterans interested in receiving a rescue dog from Veteran Companion Animal Services (VCAS). VCAS' Dog Placement Program is based on the Human Animal Bond which creates a mutually beneficial relationship that provides physical, psychological, and physiological benefits. Learn about VCAS' placement process which often places a dog within six months of application. VCAS is a non-profit that gives rescue dogs to veterans for companionship. The expenses of the adoption, placement supplies, seven weeks of dog training, and the first year of food and veterinary care are included in the program. Attendance at this meeting is necessary to receive a dog. For more information call 614-918-8221, email [email protected] or [email protected]
The meeting will go over our process and procedures.
Attendance at an Interest meeting is one of our requirements to be considered for obtaining a dog from VCAS. Family members are welcome to attend the meeting. Those attending will move ahead of applicants who haven't attended an Interest meeting.
If you haven't provided a copy of your DD 214 please bring one to the meeting. For those renting please bring a copy of your rental agreement showing you are allowed to have a dog and any restrictions on size/breed.
